Ketamine-Assisted Therapy

Ketamine is a safe, effective, legal treatment.

Ketamine has been safely used as an FDA-approved anesthetic since 1970, including in children during surgeries and emergency care. Unique in its action, it functions both as a dissociative and a psychedelic. Today, it is prescribed off-label in low doses to treat depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain, and other mental health conditions, often producing rapid antidepressant effects. Because ketamine is fast-acting and metabolizes quickly, it offers access to altered states of consciousness similar to classical psychedelics, while allowing for shorter, more manageable therapy sessions.

Ketamine-assisted therapy

Ketamine-assisted therapy combines the science of psychopharmacology with the depth of relational, insight-oriented therapy. This approach can help restore vitality, creativity, and joy to daily life. While many clients experience meaningful and sometimes profound shifts, it is not a magic bullet. True healing is a process, and continued therapy allows growth and transformation to unfold gradually over time.

The session

Medicine sessions are typically 2.5 hours. This allows time to settle in and to come out of the experience mindfully. The effects typically come on within 15-25 minutes. We provide eye-shades and headphones with curated music to help you go inward. Clients recline and relax, always with a therapist by your side.

You can expect a light trance state in lower doses, to full transpersonal experiences in higher doses. Some clients report seeing images, vibrant colors, and symbols imbued with meaning. Often, significant memories and insights rise to the surface. Ketamine can yield unexpected healing in ways that one could not have previously imagined.

The dissociative action of Ketamine infuses space between thoughts, memories, and emotions. This is helpful for those who feel trapped or stuck. Ketamine has anxiolytic properties that reduce anxiety. This helps to have less fear going into the psychedelic journey, allowing one to engage with challenging content with ease. Integration sessions are critical to maximize the therapeutic potential of ketamine as it is a time of enhanced neuroplasticity, meaning that the mind is more flexible and adaptable to change.
